UofA to Host 7th College Rodeo

UA Cossatot will host its 7th Annual College Rodeo at the Four States Fairgrounds in Texarkana, AR on April 27, 28, and 29.

The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. nightly and will feature Bareback Riding, Calf Roping, Breakaway Roping, Saddle Bronc Riding, Steer Wrestling, Goat Tying, Team Roping, Barrel Racing, and Bull Riding. Competitors from over 15 colleges and universities in the Ozark Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association will be in contention for a spot at the College National Finals Rodeo set for June in Casper, Wyoming.

UA Cossatot Colts Rodeo Coach, Valerie Stone, is expecting this to be UAC’s largest and most entertaining rodeo yet. Stone said, “The quality of the UA Cossatot College Rodeo is comparable to any professional rodeo you will go to.”

Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for students, and children under 6 get in free. UA Cossatot students with student ID will get in free on Thursday night with general admission being $5. All military personnel (past, present, and future) can get in free Friday night with a government-issued military ID.

Saturday night is championship night. Ticket giveaways can be found on the UA Cossatot Facebook page.

For the fourth year J & J Rodeo Company, winner of the 2016 UFR Bull of the Year, will provide top quality stock. Rodeo entertainment will be provided by The Rock’n Cajun Delmond Henderson. PRCA
announcer Doug Mathis will be joining the rodeo for his second year. JC Productions will provide music and sound.

The UA Cossatot Student Ambassadors will be selling rodeo t-shirts for $10 and operating the UAC photo booth for $2 a session. Concessions and bar will be open.
