Texarkana, TX – Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar, a leading full-service family sports bar that provides gourmet takes on game day favorites, will soon be Texarkana’s go-to community restaurant by early 2020. The brand has gained a loyal following for employing the go-getter spirit of a walk-on athlete while providing superior service and mouthwatering All-American menu items with a taste of Louisiana. Before its doors officially open, the brand held a groundbreaking celebration on Friday, the 8,500-square-foot restaurant slated to open early 2020. Attendees were served samples of their popular Tuna Tini, Voodoo Shrimp, and Krispy Kreme Donut Bread Pudding.
The new restaurant kicked off its groundbreaking event at 10 a.m. with opening remarks from Walk-On’s Founder, Brandon Landry.
The ownership group from Alexandria, LA is excited to be bringing the great food and atmosphere they love from their Walk-On’s location in Alexandria to the Texarkana area. “What better place to open our second Walk-On’s than the Texarkana area” says franchisee Brandon Thompson. “As a group we worked very hard on the success of our first location in hopes that we’d have an opportunity to do a second restaurant somewhere great. To have the opportunity to do our second location in a market like Texarkana is beyond exciting.”
“What I think the people in Texarkana will fall in love with, is not only the amazing food that Walk-On’s provides, but it has an atmosphere that is second to none. We hope to be the go-to restaurant in the community for all occasions” partner Byron Mitchell said.

Community members are invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony and a free, open to the public reception where both complimentary food and refreshments will be available. All attendees are invited to an exclusive tasting experience to try some of Walk-On’s most famous and mouthwatering menu items.
