Weather Service storm survey finds two tornados in west Bowie County

The National Weather Service out of Shreveport spent the day surveying Bowie and Red River Counties storm damages for signs of tornados. They did find signs of two tornado touchdowns in western Bowie County.

According to the survey, damage done in eastern Bowie County was caused by straight line winds of 85-95 MPH.

According to the survey, both tornadoes in Bowie County were near Spring Hill north of DeKalb along U.S. 259. They were both EF-1 tornadoes with winds from 85-95 MPH.

SURVEY_SUMMARY: WIDESPREAD WIND DAMAGE STARTED APPROXIMATELY 1 MILE EAST NORTHEAST OF HOOKS AND CONTINUED ALMOST TO LEARY. SEVERAL TREES WERE SNAPPED AND UPROOTED. A NUMBER OF HOMES LOSS SHINGLES WITH ONE MOBILE HOME LOSING AN ENTIRE ROOF STRUCTURE SUSPENDED OVER THE HOME. SEVERAL OUTBUILDINGS WERE DAMAGE OR DESTROYED.
