December 26, 1949 – July 20, 2026
Charles David Wood, 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.
David was born on December 26, 1949, in Texarkana, Arkansas, to Patsy Sue and Charles Lindy Wood.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, David honorably served his country during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he dedicated 37 years of hard work and commitment to the Union Pacific Railroad before retiring.
David met the love of his life, Judy Tussey, and the two were married for 56 wonderful years. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and countless cherished memories.
He was an incredible dad and an even more devoted Pepaw. His legacy is one of love, strength, kindness, and dedication to his family. Though he will be deeply missed, the lessons he taught, the traditions he created, and the love he shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. We find comfort in knowing that his spirit will forever be present in every mountain sunrise, every quiet fishing trip, every hunting season, and every family gathering.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Patsy Sue and Charles Lindy Wood, and sister Nancy Canaday.
Those left to cherish his memory include his devoted wife, Judy Tussey Wood; one son, Bryan Wood and wife Becky of Texarkana, Arkansas; one daughter, Amanda Harris and husband Cliff of Texarkana, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Taylor Keith and wife Jessica of Lonoke, Arkansas, Lexie Boyce and husband Steven of Texarkana, Arkansas, Carly Rushing and husband Dylan of Texarkana, Arkansas, Trip Harris of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Tatum Harris of Texarkana, Arkansas; three great-granddaughters, Huntleigh Boyce, Hadley Boyce, and Georgia Rushing; and his brother, Randy Wood of Dierks, Arkansas.
