DeWitt E. Pritchett, age 97, of Texarkana, TX, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2026, at his residence. He was born on June 2, 1929, in Reilly Springs, TX, to Albert and Mary Pritchett.

DeWitt E. Pritchett, age 97, of Texarkana, TX, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2026, at his residence. He was born on June 2, 1929, in Reilly Springs, TX, to Albert and Mary Pritchett.
DeWitt was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, where he humbly and honorably served his country for two terms. He was a beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather who will forever be remembered for his generous heart, kind spirit, and loving demeanor.
A man of many talents and passions, DeWitt was a master guitar player who brought music and joy to those around him. He also found great happiness in gardening and was an avid fisherman. DeWitt was a Christian by faith
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Nancy Pritchett Patterson and Susan Pritchett Rankin Stoval; his parents, Albert and Mary Pritchett; granddaughter, Stacie Dianne Pritchett; great-granddaughter, Lakin Brown; and his seven siblings.
He is survived by his loving wife of 78 years, Willie Mae ‘Billie” Pritchett; children, Donald E. Pritchett and wife Cindy, Dianne Pritchett Morehead and husband Larry, Barbara Pritchett Ridgon and husband Eddie, Ronald J. Pritchett, and Connie S. Pritchett Brown; 20 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Chapelwood Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, with Rev. Carl Teel officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 12:00-1:00 PM prior to service time. Burial with military honors to follow at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens.
