Gaye Taylor Black, age 72 of Ashdown, AR, went home to be with the Lord and Savior August 30, 2026 on a glorious Sunday morning surrounded by her husband Bob, daughter Rachel and her loving grandsons, and son in law Ryan.

Gaye Taylor Black, age 72 of Ashdown, AR, went home to be with the Lord and Savior August 30, 2026 on a glorious Sunday morning surrounded by her husband Bob, daughter Rachel and her loving grandsons, and son in law Ryan.
Mrs. Black was born August 20, 1954 in Miami, Florida. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ashdown, AR and was retired from teaching after 26 years. She was a life member of the National Education Association, Little River Retired Teachers Ass., and PEO.
She enjoyed reading, gardening and spending time with family & friends and especially her grandson to whom she was known as Gigi. Mrs. Black always tried to put God first, others second & herself last.
She is preceded in death by her parents Hugh & Rachel Taylor & brother Hugh Taylor Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years Robert (Bob) Black, daughter Rachel Walton (Ryan), husband, two sisters Pam Down (husband Guy), Jenny Purtell (husband John), two grandsons Ryland & Rauce Walton & a host of friends & other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Ashdown at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 5, 2026. The family will be having a lunch for family and friends at 11:30 prior to service time; followed at a later date in Florida with family and close friends.
