Joy Belle Betts

Joy Belle Betts, age 93, of Texarkana, TX, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

Joy was born on November 6, 1932, in Harmon, Louisiana, to her parents, Sidney and Dessie Falgout. She moved to the Texarkana area when she was 12 years old and has been a resident ever since. She was retired from Red River Army Depot and was a Christian by faith. She attended Saint Luke’s Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, working on her puzzles, and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed the time she spent traveling up north and seeing the world with her daughter, Patti. She had a loving soul and enjoyed her quiet time. She was loved by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Betts; two sons, Randall Lee Betts and Keith Betts; grandson, Chris Baird; four brothers, C.D. Falgout, Thomas Falgout, Rusty Falgout, Joe Falgout; and one sister, Doris Boyette.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Harold Baird; grandchildren, Kennedi Baird, Alex Betts (Amanda) and their children, Colyton and Brody Lee; and Joni Tuttle (Tyler) and their children, Taylor and Beckham; along with a special nephew, Mike Boyette; and special niece, Connie Falgout; a very special caregiver, Jessie Stroup; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Bro. Keith Ducroz officiating.

A time of visitation will be held the evening prior, Friday, June 26, 2026, from 5:30-7:00 PM at Texarkana Funeral Home – Texas.
