Richard “Rick” Lewis Birtcher Jr., 67, of Texarkana, Texas, passed away June 3, 2026, surrounded by family.
Born October 1, 1958, Rick lived a life marked by unwavering devotion to those he loved. He was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose larger-than-life personality left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
For 48 years, Rick shared an extraordinary life with his wife, Annette. Together they built a life centered on family and unconditional love, their bond remaining strong through every season.
Rick’s greatest pride was his family. While a devoted husband, father, and friend, his most cherished title was “Pop.” Nothing made him happier than being with his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and purpose. To them, Pop was love, strength, encouragement, and laughter—a role he embraced fully and proudly.
To know Rick was to know laughter. He had a quick wit, contagious humor, and never met a stranger. An entrepreneur at heart and, as his family called him, “the world’s greatest salesman,” he had a gift for connecting with people. An avid collector, his greatest treasures were always his family and the memories they made.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Birtcher Sr. and Betty Birtcher; his sister, Debbie Birtcher-Norment; and his beloved Mamaw, Idella Byrd.
He is survived by his wife, Annette Birtcher; children, Heather (Stephen) Robinson, Justin (Kasey) Birtcher, and Haley (Josh) Parton; grandchildren, Lexi Reyes, Emily Robinson, Braylen Parton, and Ellie Parton, along with bonus grandchildren Kaleb Johnson, Colton Robinson, and Hannah Rankin.
Rick is also survived by his sisters, Trudy (Larry) Hill and Penny (Larry) Wilhite, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Though his earthly journey has come to an end, the legacy of his love and devotion to his family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
