Stewart, MyronTEXARKANA, TEXAS – Texarkana Texas Police Officers arrested Myron Stewart, 39, of Texarkana, Texas early this morning at a convenience store in the 5100 block of Summerhill Road after they responded to a call of a disturbance at a nearby motel.

Officers were dispatched to a motel in the 1900 block of St. Michael Drive at approximately 2:00 a.m. today after receiving a 9-1-1 call from a third party about a disturbance in one of the rooms.  Upon arrival, officers were told that Stewart came to the room where he knew the occupants.  Following a brief argument, Stewart became agitated and produced a revolver.  He stole a cell phone from one person in the room and then forced the female victim to perform a sexual act on him.  Stewart and the victim were located a few minutes later by officers at a convenience store across the street.  The victim told officers that Stewart had hidden the pistol outside another nearby business when he saw a police car drive past.  The gun was located by officers.

Stewart was arrested and booked into the Texarkana City Jail on the felony charges of Aggravated Robbery and Aggravated Sexual Assault.  The incident remains under investigation and additional charges against Stewart are likely.

Two other local occupants of the motel room had outstanding felony warrants and were also arrested.
